Project Manager / Coordinator
Position summary
The City of Linn Valley is hiring a full-time Project Manager / Coordinator to help turn Council priorities into completed work. The role combines municipal project management, interdepartmental coordination, grant and contractor follow-through, public communication, records preparation, and direct support to the Mayor, City Clerk, and City Council.
It’s designed for a small city where projects cross departmental lines. The right person brings structure to complex projects, keeps clear accountability, prepares concise decision-ready information, and follows matters through to completion — without displacing the authority of elected officials or the City Clerk.
Reporting
Reports to the Mayor, with project priorities set by the governing body (the Mayor and City Council). Works with the City Clerk, department heads, the City Attorney, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, regional partners, volunteers, and members of the public.
What you’d do
- Projects: create and maintain work plans, schedules, budgets, and status reports; coordinate active work — water and wastewater improvements, City Hall planning, parks, community facilities, technology, code updates, and economic development; flag delays and cost pressures early.
- Council, Mayor & administrative support: prepare research, briefing materials, correspondence, public notices, and meeting packets; track Council directives, contracts, deadlines, permits, and grant requirements; support the City Clerk with records and administrative workloads.
- Contracts, grants & vendors: help define scopes, gather quotes, track contracts, invoices, and pay applications, and research and coordinate grant applications and reporting.
- Community coordination: serve as a point of contact for residents and partners; help staff advisory committees; translate technical information into clear public updates.
