Expanding the City's wastewater lagoon system to add treatment capacity for current and future needs.

Construction has started. Site work on the lagoon expansion began in September 2026, following a notice to proceed issued in June.

What's happening now

Crews are stripping and stockpiling topsoil ahead of excavation. A detailed work-area map and the full construction schedule will be posted here as the City receives them from the project engineer. To get updates as they're posted, sign up for alerts.

What the project includes

Three new treatment cells (Cells 1, 2, and 3) — the 2024 lagoon improvements
A new constructed treatment wetlands
Replacement of the dump station and lift station
Existing lagoons repurposed to provide emergency storage
Land reserved for a projected 40-year future lagoon expansion
