  1. March 2, 2026

    KDHE water-tower permit received

    The City received its Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) permit for the new water tower on March 2, 2026 — a key milestone toward putting the tower into service for storage and steady system pressure. A change order adding flush hydrants at dead-end lines was also submitted to USDA Rural Development for approval.

  2. January 31, 2026

    Booster station and transmission main complete

    Construction of the transmission main and booster station is complete, with finish grading underway and the SCADA control system being brought online. Overall project progress was estimated at about 43% as of the end of January.

  3. December 19, 2025

    Water valves opened and pump start-up

    Water valves were opened in mid-December, followed by scheduled pump start-up with the contractor. This set the stage for filling the new water tower and disinfecting the system in early 2026.
